How to Break Into the Movie Scene and Start Your Successful Career!!!
Saturday, June 2 from 10:00am-12:00pm
This class will be taught by Vivian Nesbitt, owner of Sol Acting Academy! Vivian will cover everything you need to know about how to break into the Film Industry successfully in New Mexico. Vivian will cover:
-How to find a Screen Actors Guild Franchised agent and what to expect.
-Who are the major casting directors in New Mexico and how do you contact them.
-What an actor’s resume should look like and what to put on it.
-Why a headshot is important and what your headshot should do for you.
-View examples of “sides” (actor’s audition materials), film scripts, and commercial copy and learn how to decode them for your best performance.
-How to find auditions for film, commercials, TV shows and even voice over work.
It’s the perfect workshop class for parents whose child has shown an interest in the film world or adults who want to make connections and get cast
but don’t feel like they know enough inside info to succeed. Please bring a pen and paper to capture all the valuable information we will cover in only two hours.
There will be an opportunity for questions to be answered after the presentation.
Ages: This class is open to ALL AGES; however, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

June 4-8, every morning from 10:00-11:00am!!
A Super Fun camp packed with all your favorite Super heroes! Be your favorite Super Hero or make up your OWN! A Special camp for your Super kids! (Parents get to relax at Flying Star or in the Lobby!) Kids get to explore creating their favorite super hero, and learn to trust our ideas, and how to communicate them. Confidence grows by leaps and bounds when we learn how to use our creative expression & social skills with OTHER creative kids! We will learn all of the basics of Acting and Drama, such as showing emotions and feelings, using your body to show how you feel, speaking clearly, and having lots of fun with amazing Super Hero costumes! During the last class, we will put on the play “Super Friends” for all of our friends and family to watch!

Your child will come home singing every day as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow!! We will put this classic mini-production together in only 5 classes, featuring fun choreography, acting and classic songs. Sol Acting Academy transports you to a dazzling Oz, complete with munchkins and flying monkeys. Don’t miss the chance to travel Over the Rainbow and experience this special class. The last 30 minutes of our final class will be our performance for friends and family.

This FUN acting class combines all the elements of the circus into an amazing creative experience! Every day, we will explore our silly side, and learn to trust our ideas, and how to communicate them. Clown noses, face-paint, gymnastics, dance, balloons, bubbles and silly hats and costumes make this a class your child will never forget! Confidence, creative expression, laughter, and social skills will flourish when your child spends this wonderful hour with OTHER creative kids! The last class will be a CIRCUS show, complete with popcorn for the audience, costumes and even a pretend tight rope, high in the air!

Based on the classic stories by Rudyard Kipling this class will delight kids with songs and characters drawn from the Disney movie The Jungle Book. Learning to memorize lines, dance and sing builds incredible confidence and self esteem! And the stories are classic tales that teach communication, team work and FUN! We will learn basic acting skills of listening and responding, how to use our voice and body to show emotions and more! Our imagination soars when we develop characters we love, and learn songs like The Bare Necessities!! The last class will have a very special show of our play The Jungle Book complete with songs and dances!
