Taught by a professionally trained improviser, this class will have you jump into the fun and fascinating world of improvisation. Whether you are an actor looking to sharpen your skills, a business professional that wants to work on communication and listening, or just an open-minded person ready to learn a new skill and make some new creative friends, improv is for you! In this one day class, learn the top secret skills to a great improv scene with lots of games, props, and hilarious fun you can share with friends and family for years to come! We will take a 1 hour lunch from 12:30-1: 30 on your own, either bring a lunch or eat in Nob Hill!

Have you been told you have a great voice? Always wanted to learn more about the amazing world of Voice Overs but don’t know how to start? Frustrated because you don’t even have a Demo Reel to GET you jobs? Fret no more! In this amazing workshop, taught by Laura Mathis, in combination with Stuart Overbey (Producer, Director, Editor) from halflife digital (http://halflifedigital.com), we will teach you:
*What voice over work really means, and listen to top examples in the industry
*Work on getting the best performance and flexibility from your voice
*How to create your OWN voice over studio in your home to submit to jobs in LA or other cities and work remotely
*Get feedback while in the recording booth on how to tweak your performance
*Get help choosing your top 3-4 genres, so you can naturally excel in for your Demo Reel
During the last half of the day, we head into the recording booth once again to record your own One Minute Voice Over Demo Reel!! WOW! (Demo reels are typically 60-90 seconds. The shorter the better. When in doubt, leave it out! It’s better to have your demo have 5 great spots than 10 average-to-great spots. “Quality” not Quantity.)
All demos will then be edited by Stuart Overbey and sent to you electronically one week after the class to get started in the Voice Over Industry!

9-Week Class on Tuesdays
March 20-May 15 from 6:30-8:30pm
This is the perfect class for someone who is ready to explore the exciting world of acting on camera. Get vital information on all of the basics as you work on camera during every class: auditioning, cold reading, commercials, movies, television shows, and what to expect when you’re on set. We will also discuss networking, resumes, head shots, finding an agent, and gaining access to auditions. Class size is limited to 10 students. Each session of Acting 101 features a special guest. Advanced Acting & Scene Work – Watch for the Dates of the Next Session!!
7-Week Class
This class is a follow-up to Acting 101 for Film, or open to actors who have past experience on camera in speaking roles. This seven-week intensive will focus on scene work to develop your connection and spontaneity that leads to having a genuine experience that brings your work to life! Over the 7 weeks, we’ll be shooting two different sets of scene work, learning about camera angles used for two-person scenes and deepening your connection to important film acting techniques that bring active, truthful choices to your craft. Learn to hone your craft in action! Join us for the next step in the process!!

This class will be taught by Vivian Nesbitt. After receiving her MFA in Acting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s Professional Theater Training Program, Vivian moved to New York to continue her career as an actor. While there she was a guest on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (premier episode) and in Candida at Roundabout Theater on Broadway as well as numerous shows off of Broadway. Vivian’s regional theater credits include George Street Play House (NJ), The Pittsburgh Public (PA) as well as many productions of Shakespeare and summer stock. In Albuquerque, she has been a guest on the Emmy Award winning shows Breaking Bad, Wild Fire, The Lying Game, and In Plain Sight. She has been seen in Mother Road Theater’s production of The Love Song Of J. Robert Oppenheimer as Kitty Oppenheimer and in Rancho Pancho at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Vivian premiered her original solo show The Bark & The Tree in the Filling Station’s SoloFest 2010.
