One of our most popular classes ever, your young actors spend time learning new fun songs every week from Broadway Musicals and other fun favorites. These great songs will be complete with fun, simple choreography to learn both individually and as a group! We will cover rhythm and how to feel and move to a beat as we sing!! Scientific studies have measured a “Mozart Effect,” an increase in IQ scores in students receiving musical instruction. Give your child the chance to grow creatively and have fun in a safe and supportive environment! The last 45 minutes of our final class will be a fun performance for friends and family of our two favorite songs with choreography and in costume!

Based on the hit Broadway musical and best selling book, this camp will have your star singing as they improvise this fantastic story. No past experience in singing or dancing needed! Perfect for students new to Acting to the ones who KNOWS they love to sing, dance and act!  Sol Acting Academy transports you to a dazzling world beyond the clouds, complete with munchkins and flying monkeys. Each class features basic acting lessons, hilarious improv games, as well as arts and crafts. Don’t miss the chance to experience this special class. This action packed class will give top secrets of being an actor on the big screen!  Whether you dream of being in commercials, movies, or television shows, this class will teach you everything, including audition techniques, on camera performances, cold readings, and working on scenes with a partner.  We will also tell you where to find auditions for movies and TV shows shot here in ABQ!! The last 30 minutes of class will be a FILM SCREENING SHOW starring YOU for friends and family!

Ages: 6- 11

This class allows kids to explore all aspects of acting, from working on plays and scripts to creating their own character on stage and acting for the camera.  We will also learn face painting, how to make our own commercials, and lots of hilarious improv games kids can teach their friends!  The last class will be a show starring our young actors for friends and family.

Taking a class more than once ensures mastery and fun, since we always learn NEW GAMES and perform NEW SCRIPTS!!  So, if you’ve already taken this class once, don’t hestitate to sign up again!

A Super Fun camp packed with all your favorite Super heroes! Be your favorite Super Hero or make up your OWN! A Special camp for your Super kids to explore creating their favorite super hero with super powers! In this class children learn to trust their ideas, and how to communicate them. Confidence grows by leaps and bounds when we learn how to use our creative expression & social skills with OTHER creative kids!  We will learn all of the basics of Acting and Drama, such as showing emotions and feelings, using your body to show how you feel, speaking clearly, and having lots of fun with amazing Super Hero costumes! During the last class, we will put on the play “Super Friends” for all of our friends and family to watch!

Taught by a professionally trained improviser, this class will have you  jump into the fun and fascinating world of improvisation.  Whether you are an actor looking to sharpen your skills, a business professional that wants to work on communication and listening, or just an open-minded person ready to learn a new skill and make some new creative friends, improv is for you!  In this one day class, learn the top secret skills to a great improv scene with lots of games, props, and hilarious fun you can share with friends and family for years to come! This half day workshop will elevate your level of fun to the stratosphere!

This class will be taught by Vivian Nesbitt, owner of Sol Acting Academy! Vivian will cover everything you need to know about how to break into the Film Industry successfully in New Mexico. Vivian will cover:

-How to find a Screen Actors Guild Franchised agent and what to expect.

-Who are the major casting directors in New Mexico and how do you contact them.

-What an actor’s resume should look like and what to put on it.

-Why a headshot is important and what your headshot should do for you.

-View examples of “sides” (actor’s audition materials), film scripts, and commercial copy and learn how to decode them for your best performance.

-How to find auditions for film, commercials, TV shows and even voice over work.

It’s the perfect workshop class for parents whose child has shown an interest in the film world or adults who want to make connections and get cast

but don’t feel like they know enough inside info to succeed.  Please bring a pen and paper to capture all the valuable information we will cover in only two hours.

There will be an opportunity for questions to be answered after the presentation.

Ages: This class is open to ALL AGES; however, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
